From the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County:
On Friday November 19, 2010, Harford Mutual and Beechtree Catering sponsored a free Thanksgiving dinner for club members and their families at the Aberdeen Boys & Girls Club located at 100 East Bel Air Avenue in Aberdeen.
In an effort to end their annual United Way Campaign by giving back to the local community employees from Harford Mutual put on their aprons and spent the evening with many of Aberdeen’s most at risk young people. “Sharing a Thanksgiving Dinner with the families at the Aberdeen Boys and Girls Club offered our employees the chance to visit the facility, bond with the kids, and see first-hand what a positive environment the club and its staff create for local youth.” said Frank Kellner, Harford Mutual’s Vice President, Claims.
Chef Manny Martinez, Boys & Girls Club alumnus in Anaheim, CA, partner and executive chef at Beechtree Catering in Aberdeen provided a gourmet turkey dinner with all the trimmings for 150 club members and their families. “It was our privilege to have been able to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for the wonderful children and their families as well as the staff and supporters of the club.” Said Chef Manny who joined Beechtree as Executive Chef over ten years ago bringing more than 20 years of culinary experience. “For many of our families they would have gone without a Thanksgiving meal this year.” said Randy Acosta, BGCHC Executive Director “In tough economic times we are relieved that companies such as Harford Mutual and Beechtree Catering step up to help our families.”
