From the City of Aberdeen:
The City of Aberdeen has been awarded a grant from Maryland Energy Administration. The Empower Clean Energy Communities Grant is looking to provide energy efficient homes to low-to-moderate families in Aberdeen.
The City is current looking for 5-7 families to participate in this wonderful grant opportunity. The City will provide a home audit with an Energy Start Contractor to evaluate the needs of the home and install cost efficient upgrades. The grant maximum is $5,000, per home and $8,000 for homes requiring a HVAC system replacement. Proof of income is required.
The goal of this program is to reduce energy use in homes. By reducing the amount of energy used in a home, the homeowner should see a reduction in monthly expenses as well. The program will track the homeowner energy reduction. The homeowner will provide monthly BGE bills to the City to track these findings.
