Two soldiers assigned to an Aberdeen Proving Ground Unit were killed late last month in an improvised explosive device attack in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Wednesday.
Staff Sgt. Chauncy R. Mays, 25, of Cookville, Texas and Spc. Christopher G. Stark, 22, of Monett, Mo. Were killed Feb. 28 in Afghanistan’s Wardak province when enemy forces attacked their unit with an IED.
The two men were assigned to the 63rd Explosive Ordinance Disposal Battalion, 20th Support Command, based out of APG.
