From Bulle Rock Golf Course:
Bulle Rock has received top nods in the May issues of major golf publications, being named by GolfStyles as “Course of the Year Maryland,” and being chosen as the only Maryland course on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses for 2011-2012.
“It is a real honor that golfers in the know recognize us as one of the nation’s premier courses,” said Richard Rounsaville, Bulle Rock’s general manager and director of golf. “It is a tribute to our original philosophy of operating a world-class course that anyone can play, and that our course conditions continue to get better and better.”
GolfStyles
“Bulle Rock: Still the best of the best, the cream of the Middle Atlantic golf crop. Unmatched for the combination of great design, great conditions, great service,” GolfStyles stated in its list of 80 Courses Around The Middle Atlantic You Shouldn’t Miss.
“Named after the first thoroughbred brought to America, Bulle Rock is as strong as its name,” the article continued. “The superb design by Pete Dye rolls around 235 acres, while the service, from the bag drop to the dining is also fist class. There’s a good reason Bulle Rock is Maryland’s best course.”
Golf Digest
Golf Digest has conducted America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses rankings since 1966, making it the oldest and most respected ranking in the game. More than 1,000 panelists nationwide played and rated the courses according to shot values, resistance to scoring, design variety, memorability, aesthetics, conditioning and ambience.
Bulle Rock was ranked 59th on the list, improving from last year’s ranking of 81st. What’s more, it also had the highest ranking of any Mid-Atlantic course on the list, which is featured in the magazine, as well as on www.golfdigest.com/go/100greatest and www.golfdigest.com/app.
