From the office of Sen. Barry Glassman:
Northern Harford County Senator Barry Glassman’s last three Legislative Session bills were signed into law by Governor O’Malley.
SB 228 – Agricultural Product Sales – Producer Mobile Farmer’s Market License – Public Festival and Event Authorization – SB 228 is the next step in Senator Glassman’s efforts to create a one license Ag Marketing license system throughout the State of Maryland. This bill will now add public festivals and events to the list of marketing opportunities that local farmers may use under their state wide producer mobile farmers market license. Currently, these licenses are only good at farmers markets throughout the State and this will bring an additional level of licenses.
SB 199 – State Retirement and Pension System – Direct Mailings by Retiree Organizations – SB 199 will at no cost to the State of Maryland provide State Retiree Organizations the names and addresses of potential members for their organization. The mailings are done entirely at the expense of the retiree organizations and will make keeping in contact and recruitment of members easier for retiree organizations.
SB 402 – Motor Carrier Companies – Local Public Transportation Systems – Exemption from Motor Carrier Permit Requirement – SB 402 will reduce a double layer of regulations for local governments which have local public transportation or bus systems. Currently, these local governments have to get Public Service Commissioner approval as well as Federal Department of Transportation and reduce the duplication by the Maryland Public Service Commission.
