Prizes will be awarded by age group for largest and most fish caught. In addition, there will be a casting contest prior to the start of fishing. Environmental Stewardship
The Darlington Lions Club adopted Shuresville Road five years ago and conducted its annual spring clean-up on April 30, gathering 7 bags of trash and a gas tank from a vehicle underbody. This past month, the club upped its stake in keeping the community clean by adopting the Francis Silver Park.
The club monitors and periodically makes clean-up sweeps of these areas to help keep the shine on our village, but we always appreciate users cleaning up after themselves. Thanks for your help in keeping Darlington clean!
June Bible School at Cornerstone Baptist

Adult Education Class Forming
Wish you knew more about the bible? Interested in social and ecological justice? Wondering how faith can make more of a difference in your day-to-day life? Longing to share meaningful and substantial conversation with a trusted group of companions? Education for Ministry (EfM) might be just what you’re looking for.
Education for Ministry is a program of theological education that teaches one how to think theologically, deepens one’s faith and understanding of the Christian heritage and provides opportunity to discern and undertake Christian ministry in the church and in the world.
EfM is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South (Sewanee). Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing Education Units for each year’s work. The group meets in weekly seminars, covering scripture, church history, liturgy and theology.
I have been a trained EfM mentor for over 10 years and have mentored groups in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I would like to start a seminar group in Harford County in September 2011.
Although Sewanee is an Episcopal school, you do not have to be Episcopalian to be a part of an EfM seminar group. You do not even have to be Christian, although the class is geared to Christians. In fact, the more ecumenical the group, the more rich our learning!
For more information, or to register for a class, please call or email Nancy Dilliplane (Rector of Grace Memorial Church, Darlington) nancy.dilliplane@gmail.com or 443-752-9684.

A Cool Hot-spot for Summer:
One place to remember as summer comes is the Darlington Library’s Reader’s Garden. Built in 2010 under the leadership of Caleb Little as his Eagle Scout Leadership project, the garden represents 391 hours of work by Webster Boy Scout Troop 965. As well as a bit of sun and a bit of shade, the garden includes comfortable benches donated by the Darlington Friends of the Library, mulched paths and flowers.
It is a great spot to read or rest or to take advantage of the library’s wireless service. You can read a book or check your e-mail. The benches fold down to make a table to support your wireless device or your book.

Churches in 21034 Work Together To Meet Community Needs
YOUR church representative is invited to join us at 10AM on Saturday, June 11 at the Wilson Center to find ways to strengthen our communities by working together as our faith leads us. What community needs might we fill together? What faith based activities would bring together the wonderful and diverse residents of Zip Code 21034? Please RSVP to Mara Walter at cewalter10@gmail.com or call 410 838-4340.
Our small group representing four churches in Zip Code 21034 first met in January, 2011, at the invitation of Nancy Dilliplane, Grace Episcopal Church’s friendly new priest. The group discussed various community needs and ways in which our churches might help meet those needs. Out of this first meeting came the 21034 Community E-News, this very newsletter. We emailed our first edition in January to our contacts at local churches and community groups.
To increase opportunities for fellowship and spiritual nourishment, we resumed church-based Community Breakfasts in February with Grace Episcopal Church as our first host followed by a May Breakfast at Deer Creek Friends Meeting.
