(Bel Air, MD) – The members of the Harford County Council are pleased to announce that they have appointed Pamela Meister as their new Council Administrator. Her nomination was approved by a unanimous 7-0 vote during the council meeting on Tuesday, July 12, 2011.
The Council Administrator is responsible for the management of daily operations, staff, budget, and resources of the council offices.
Ms. Meister most recently was the Associate Executive Director and Director of Government Relations & Public Policy for the Baltimore Jewish Council, where she was employed since 2008. During that time, she managed the development of the organization’s budget, reviewed and analyzed proposed legislation, developed advocacy strategies, drafted position papers, made policy recommendations, and supervised staff.
In addition, Ms. Meister has previously worked in Annapolis as the Legislative Director for Delegate Bobby Zirkin of Baltimore County and later for State Senator Paul G. Pinsky of Prince George’s County.
“We were very pleased to receive interest from many highly qualified individuals,” stated County Council President Billy Boniface. “After carefully studying the applications and conducting interviews, it was clear that Ms. Meister was the perfect person to be the next administrator for the Harford County Council. She has a very impressive background and a track record of effective management in a public policy setting. I have no doubt that she will do a terrific job.”
