From the Maryland State Police, Bel Air Barrack:
(Churchville, Md.) On July 26, 2011 at approximately 12:40 a.m. troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to northbound Priestford Road (MD 136) north of Churchville Road (MD 22), for a two-vehicle collision involving a 1995 Honda Accord and a 2005 Frieghtliner Tractor with attached trailer.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1995 Honda Accord, operated by Bisbee Paduk Allen, 21, of Churchville, Maryland, was traveling northbound on Priestford Road at the above location. For reasons unknown the driver of the Honda crossed the double yellow center lines of the roadway, skidded into the southbound lanes and was struck by a 2005 Freightliner with attached trailer, operated by Robert Myers, 60, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
During evasive maneuvers the driver of the Freightliner also steered onto the right roadside and collided with a BG&E utility pole. Additionally, the Honda continued off of the roadway after colliding with the Freightliner and also collided with a BG&E utility pole. The driver and sole occupant of the Honda was trapped in the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene by EMS personnel.
TFC Robert Hagan and Corporal M. Brady, Advanced Collision Reconstructionist from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack continue to investigate the cause of this collision. They are being assisted by personnel from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Maryland State Police.
