Harford County Executive David Craig will appear live on WAMD 970 AM Friday morning to discuss the possibility and potential impacts of Moody’s Investors Service downgrading the credit rating for the county. Craig will be on-air between 7:30-9 a.m. Friday.
In a statement issued earlier in the week, Craig said “Moody’s Investors Service placed Harford County on the watch list for potential downgrade and will be reviewing the county’s dependence on federal revenues, its sensitivity to macroeconomic cycles and its available financial resources to offset these factors.”
Regarding what a possible downgrade could mean for Harford County, Craig added, “If the County is downgraded to Aa, borrowing costs will increase. On a bond issue of approximately $100 million it could cost the County an additional $3.2 million in interest over the 20 year period of the issue. This is a significant difference and means money that is not available to provide services the citizens.”
Listen or watch the discussion with County Executive David Craig and Maynard Edwards live between 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday on WAMD 970 AM. Or call the station to give your point of view at (410) 306-6270.

If we are downgraded the County Executive should be help accountable. If the downgrade happens we as concerned citizens will consider recall under any means available to citizens of Maryland under our Constitution. If we are downgraded there will be hell to pay.
