From Harford County government:
Participants in the Aberdeen Senior Activity Center’s Quilting Project recently donated their handmade quilts to Alliance, Inc., a non-profit agency offering a wide array of services tailored to the specific needs and wishes of people with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and substance abuse problems. Representatives from the Harford County Department of Community Services and the Office on Aging were in attendance as the quilts were given to Alliance, Inc.
The Quilting Project group meets the first, second and fourth Friday of each month, at the Aberdeen Senior Activity Center, located at 7 Franklin Street, and lovingly make quilts specifically to donate to local groups and organizations which help those in need within the community.
The Harford County Department of Community Services, Office on Aging, manages seven senior activity centers throughout the county. Besides quilting, participants of the senior activity centers enjoy dance classes, arts, computers, special workshops, and much more.
