From the Department of Natural Resources:
Susquehanna State Park’s Lapidum Boat Launching facility will be temporarily closed on or around October 9 ? with a projected reopening date of December 1, 2012 ? in order to remove excessive sediment from the launch area caused by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
“This work is necessary in order to keep the facility in a safe and operable condition,” said Park Manager Nicole Merrick. “Every effort will be made to reopen the facility for public access as soon as possible.”
Both launch ramps will be closed so that the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) can install a sediment control barrier during maintenance. This barrier will minimize any impact the site work may have on the environment.

Again? During duck hunting, which I just payed an extra 45 dollars to be able to hunt there. Can I get a refund? Its the only place to launch without hitting rocks
Yup...Again says
Yeah they did this a couple years ago during duck season. I ended up taking the trip across the dam and launching at Port Deposit @ $5 a launch. Good luck getting your money back

There’s a launch site with ramps into Conowingo Creek; no charge and parking for trailers, but it puts you above the dam. Not sure if that matters to the ducks.
Take Route 1 across the dam and go on about a mile, up the hill out of the river valley. Make a left turn onto Route 222 northbound at the big Royal Farms gas station. About a mile down the road, you’ll turn left again onto Mount Zoar Road. A bit over a mile down Mt. Zoar, you’ll start heading downhill again, where you’ll see the signs directing you to the boat launching ramp.
When you put in, you’ll have to pass under the railroad bridge to get from the creek to the river.
