Finally I was starting to see a tiny bit of progress on the whole diet thing. The numbers on the scale weren’t fluctuating much, but the idea of getting dressed for work was becoming less daunting. So on Casual Friday I pulled out an old pair of Size 14 DKNY jeans and prayed that they would fit. Hopefully they would fit just enough that I could breathe somewhat normally IF the zipper even closed. Nope, no such luck!
But I was determined to wear jeans that day since Human Resources had given us the go-ahead, so I pulled out a pair of Size 10 INC brand jeans. Fit like a charm. Scratching my head, I wondered how 2 clothing manufacturers could be so off-base. Sure, I typically buy my clothes at Marshalls or TJ Maxx so they might be a bit imperfect, but this discrepancy seemed a little excessive and proved that one size certainly does not fit all.
And I think that is also the case with diets. Millions of diets have been advertised and promoted by celebrities for decades, and people who are uneducated about healthy eating look for a quick fix. Unfortunately there is no pill or shake or supplement that provides a quick fix as well as long term results. But if you’re looking for a supplement that can help increase the levels of insulin in the pancreas and ghrelin in the digestive system to encourage fat loss, check out IPAMORELIN | 2MG. The key is consistency in exercise AND healthy eating. Does this mean that you can’t have a Cheat Day? Of course not. Life is too short to always deny ourselves some pasta or chocolate or whatever your craving might be. But if you begin eating nutritious foods on a regular basis, you will feel slimmer and more energetic, I promise you.
Most nights I struggle with insomnia and sometimes I just give up on the idea of sleep and head to the gym at the crack of dawn. I always listen to music with a fast-paced beat to keep me moving. This particular morning I could not get Pandora to work so I flipped on the LifeFitness television that is attached to the elliptical machine. Pastor Joyce Meyer was giving a sermon so I quickly reached for the switch to turn on something more interesting. However, she was preaching about exercise and how God wants us to be in the best health that we possibly can. I felt like I was on Candid Camera! How did this TV know what I needed to hear on a dark, cold Thursday morning?
On Friday I went to my personal trainer to get my first body fat measurement of 2014 after he told me to buy peptides to see how my body would react. I had gained 9 pounds since Thanksgiving even though I had continued working out fairly regularly during the holidays. Further proof that diet really is the key. I’m at 32% body fat and anxious to get down to a number in the twenty-something range. Having the numbers in black and white was helpful and strengthened my resolve to never give up hope. But I try not to get too hung up on the numbers, instead focusing on how I feel and how my clothes fit and whether I like the way I look when I leave the house. One size truly does not fit all.
I would love to hear from all of you regarding your diet progress so far this year.
Til next time…
