At the scene, a civilian in a kayak paddled out to the dog, and was able to recovered the dog and bring it back to shore where it was reunited with its owner. A veterinarian was on scene with the owner and the dog appeared to be uninjured.
No oppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company resources were used in the recovery and the fire company wanted to remind pet owners to keep their pets on a leash and not allow them to walk on ice.
