From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
(January 21, 2015 – EDGEWOOD, MD) –On January 19th, Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Aldi Grocery Store in Edgewood for the report of an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, Deputies were directed to a male who was lying face down on the floor inside the business who appeared to be suffering from cardiac arrest. As Deputies searched the business, other Deputies initiated CPR and prepared for the use of an Automated External Defibulator (AED). Prior to the use of the AED, during a search of the subject, a handgun was located under his body.
The AED was used twice by Deputies to shock the subject’s heart in an effort to re-establish an effective heart rhythm. Witnesses confirmed the subject, who matched the description provided deputies by the Emergency Operations Center, as the person who attempted to rob the store. Paramedics from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company arrived and took over care from Deputies. The subject was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators have identified the deceased male as Wayne Clark, 52, of Edgewood. In addition to the January 19th attempted armed robbery of the Aldi Grocery Store in Edgewood, detectives have determined that Clark is also responsible for the November 6, 2014, armed robbery of the same Aldi Grocery Store and the robbery of the Dollar General Store in the 2200 block of Hanson Road, in Edgewood on November 29, 2014.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing this investigation.
Joe White says
Your story has the wrong store in the headline. It was Edgewood, not Aberdeen.
F.L. says
Was it corrected Joe? I see no ref. to Aberdeen.
h says
That’s because is has been corrected. I’m wondering if there is some sort of systemic problem in Harford county. Perhaps lead in the water. It would certainly be a shame if there was no other excuse than the majority of residence are just stupid.
LMAO2 says
That wound be residents…not residence. Maybe that answers your question?
A in B.A. says
And that is WOULD not wound. 🙂
F.L. says
Ahhhh. Tax payer dollars saved for trial and incidentals!
PoeticJustice says
Is it too early to say “My Heart goes out” to those deputies who had to keep a straight face as an armed robber suffered a heart attack while potentially putting innocent bystanders lives at risk! GOOD RIDDENS!
Hedley Lamarr says
The Deputies should have performed mouth to mouth.
SoulCrusher says

I just love a happy ending.
MD gun laws hard at work again, I see……keeping the public safe from criminals…..oh, wait.
Kharn says
It’s a good thing the suspect died, now the MSP won’t even have to bother revoking his concealed handgun permit…
Hadebough says
George Bush probably shot him. Where in the hell is Al Sharpton? This is a perfect time for Babs ( aka..Senator STFU ) to release a statement.
Pamela says
Karma.
A in B.A. says
A review of the deceased records in MD Judiciary reveals he has armed robberies all the way back to 1988. 1st and 2nd degree assaults. Burglaries. Narcotics offenses. Vehicle code offenses. Etc. Etc. All stretched out over a criminal career longer than some people actually work before retiring. Yet another shining example of a criminal being “rehabilitated” by the DOC and then released upon the citizens of this State to be victimized by him again and again.
Karma, indeed. I would say it was WAY past time for karma to catch up with him.
henry says
Since he died committing a robbery, and he was a career criminal.
Would this be a work related death?
Sam i Am says
He died doing what he loved
Bea says
And public assistance in between robbery’s ?
