From the City of Havre de Grace Office of Tourism:
After a informative conversation with City departments, participants, and the committee for the parade the City of Havre de Grace announces the cancellation due the severe temperatures in the forecast Friday evening.
The parade in its 8th year and was created as a tribute to our French Culture and to be an economic stimulus to our downtown. The parade had been built to more than 400 participants. It is truly a fun and festive event that the community embraces. Mother Nature had other ideas this year, although the committee looks forward to continue the planning and the growth of this event next year.
The United Methodist Church will continue the Pancake Supper from 5 pm- 7 pm to benefit a Mission Trip they are planning for July of 2015.
Postponed the first time because of the weather and it wasn’t even snowing. Was it because they had already rescheduled the city council meeting for the same night? Now the canceled it for Friday night because it’s too cold. maybe it’s because the parade would inter-fear with the restaurant business by taking away all the parking.
Would you attend the parade in temperatures like these? I wouldn’t….. It do be cold outside!
Are you kidding? Give a reason in Harford County for people to gather and drink alcohol, and you think a little cold will stop them?
I will concede, you have a good point…..
Inter-fear???
No wonder “none” didn’t get re-elected. Can you say Debbie Downer????
“… maybe it’s because the parade would inter-fear with the restaurant business by taking away all the parking.”?
Really? Or maybe, they are concerned for the citizens of our community and care for the well being of participants and spectators? No, I guess that would be too compassionate and caring for your consideration.
