Does anybody know why Glassman wants to reopen the master plan? Is it just to benefit the lawyers that benefit from the work? Or is there a specific property he has in mind?

What??? Another stupid taxpayer asking yet more stupid questions! Are you freaking serious or just really that dumb? There is this thing called comprehensive planning that requires updates and revisions from time to time. It is required by matter of LAW which is under the preview of the citizens, even stupid ones and hopefully the smarter elected officials that represent them. It is supposed to be comprehensive, not piece driven but I am sure Walmart enemies will try to put political pressure to rezone the site. I hope if they can stop the project that a Section 8 complex is built there instead. Bel Air deserves an equal distribution of crime and crapola that the Rate 40 corridor has dealt for years. Maybe they’ll demand the area Edgewood West.

I hope that all citizens concerned about the Walmart fiasco…how Eva Mar was handled and the future of your neighborhoods and towns pay attention. Now is the time to get involved…once a master plan has been revised it follows with necessary zoning changes…and once zoning changes have been made and adopted it’s an uphill battle to save your neighborhoods. We have a council president that suggested at the last council meeting that the master plan isn’t binding…if you listened to the developer’s atty Gessner from last night – he agrees and supports enlarging the development envelope. That is what they want. We must affect the master plan in order to affect changes in zoning. The fix is in and these parties that have all day to scheme the system to their favor and they are working on favors right now. I believe Bradley Killian is a fair and responsible public servant in an unfortunate position of trying to weigh the rights of citizens against the pressures of developers. We need to be involved…they need to hear our voices and we need to care enough about the future of the county to take the time to make our voices heard. Make sure your council representative understands how you feel one way or another – Mr. Slutzky has made it clear he is the developers friend.
