From Maryland State Police:
On Tuesday, November 5, 2015 at approximately 1930 hours the JFK Highway Barrack was notified of a multi-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 95 south of Route 24 (Vietnam Veterans Memorial Hwy.) mile marker 75.5, Harford County. Preliminary investigation indicates a Maryland Transportation Authority Courtesy Patrol Unit was stopped on the right shoulder at the aforementioned location, assisting with the repair of a disabled vehicle, a 1997 Dodge pickup. Both the Courtesy Patrol Unit, the operator of the Dodge, and an additional motorist who stopped to assist were standing on the right shoulder in the area of their vehicles.
Traveling southbound at this time was 2004 International tractor/ trailer. For an unknown reason the vehicle left the roadway, drove onto the shoulder, and struck the rear of the Courtesy Patrol Unit. This collision caused a chain reaction which resulted in the Courtesy Patrol vehicle being launched forward into the other two vehicles located immediately in front of it on the shoulder. During the collision sequence the three pedestrians where struck by the uncontrolled vehicles.
All of the pedestrians were transported Shock Trauma. The driver of the tractor/ trailer was transported to Bayview Hospital.

ANOTHER out-of-control “independent” trucker hauling containers from the Port. These guys are consistently BAD news on the roadways. Speeding, tailgating, etc. Having out a lot of miles on over the years, I see these bozo’s as the most UNprofessional drivers out here.
