From the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office:
On December 18, 2015, Colin Wolf 22, of Bel Air, pleaded guilty to the First Degree Murder of Aubree Roberts, aged two months. He was sentenced by the Honorable Angela Eaves to life, all but thirty three years suspended.
On April 18, 2013 the Defendant had been left alone at his home in Bel Air and asked to watch his two month old niece Aubree, while his mother and sister drove to Edgewood. The investigation by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the Defendant was angry at his sister, Aubree’s mother, for having had the baby with her boyfriend whom the Defendant did not like. That evening the Defendant, while watching Aubree, sprayed cologne in her mouth and then punched her in the face, resulting in brain hemorrhage and death soon thereafter.
He fled the scene just as the grandmother arrived home and discovered Aubree bleeding and bruised. He was apprehended by police a short time later. He admitted to police that he punched Aubree because he did not want his sister to have the child, that she did not deserve her.
The Defendant had been previously been deemed incompetent to stand trial due to his mental disabilities, but was recently evaluated in June of 2015 and again in November of 2015 and found to be competent. The Defendant has a long documented history of mental issues relating to learning disabilities , ADHD and anger issues. The case was prosecuted by Deputy State’s Attorney Diana Brooks.
