2010 Primary Election LiveBlog (updated)

September 14, 2010 By Steve 84 Comments

Check this post all day today to see the latest election updates from all around the county.

  • 8:49 AM – An early skirmish appears to have occurred in District A, as school board candidate Bob Frisch tells The Dagger that he was an eyewitness to what he called a “despicable display” from Councilman Dion Guthrie outside the polling location at Edgewood Middle School. Frisch says Guthrie confronted John Henkel, Guthrie’s opponent in the race to represent District A on the County Council, over a mailer sent out by Henkel.

Frisch said Guthrie engaged in a “tirade,” pointing fingers and threatening to sue for libel and slander over the contents of the mailer, which Guthrie said spread false information. Frisch said the whole affair took place in front of Henkel’s kids, making one of them cry, and ended when someone prepared to start recording the scene and Guthrie walked away.

Guthrie told The Dagger that Frisch’s description of the encounter was exaggerated, but said he did confront Henkel this morning at the school. Guthrie said Henkel lied about Guthrie’s voting record and about what Guthrie did with money he earned on county furlough days, money Guthrie said he donated to charity. Guthrie called the mailer a “libelous piece” sent to voters the weekend before the election, and said, “I told him [Henkel] what I thought of his mailer.”

Guthrie said the mailer also looked like “an Art Helton dirty trick deal”.

  • 10:00 AM – Early voter turnout at Edgewood Middle School was described as “terrible” by District A Councilman Dion Guthrie, who told The Dagger in the 9 a.m. hour that more than 2,600 Democratic voters were eligible to vote at that location, making the precinct by far the largest of the 10 precincts in District A. Guthrie said that Edgewood Middle School was a new polling location, serving voters who had previously cast their votes at Deerfield Elementary School and Edgewood High School.

Turnout at the Edgewood Rec Center was also described as “very slow, much slower than two years ago,” by a poll worker at that location.

  • 10:39 AM – The latest campaign piece for District 34 Democratic senate candidate Rovall Washington appear to have been sent by someone with an email address from County Councilman Dion Guthrie’s union (@ ibew1501.com). http://www.ibew1501.com/
  • 10:40 AM – The “Republican Assembly” did a robo call Friday around 3:30. It didn’t leave a return phone number, a violation of law. The caller was part of Roscoe Bartlett’s staff, a federal employee, a possible HATCH act violation. She didn’t leave her last name.
  • 10:41 AM – At every polling place in the county, a hourly tally of the number of voters at each location is posted, broken down by the number of Republicans and Democrats. Here are some early numbers from Bel Air, where election judges tell The Dagger that turnout was low in the first two hours of voting:

    Bel Air High School: R – 17, D – 3, (as of 8:30 a.m.)

    Bel Air Elementary School: R – 40, D – 31 (as of 9 a.m.)

    Bel Air United Methodist Church: R – 36, D – 14 (as of 9:30 a.m)

    Mt. Arafat Lodge: R – 31, D – 11 (as of 9:30 a.m.)
    Forest Lakes Elementary School: R – 116, D – 45 (as of 10 a.m.)

  • 10:49 – From the Desk of Stephen M. Wright, the Republican county executive candidate and GOP leader who died during his campaign several months ago, comes this email with endorsements from his wife:

“Dear Friends of Krista and Stephen Wright,

It’s election time once again and we find ourselves at point in history like no other. The Nation, the State of Maryland and Harford County are at a crossroads. I personally find myself at a point in my life where McKenzie, Katie and I had expected to be campaigning down to the wire for Steve in his pursuit to serve Harford County as its County Executive and as you know this was not to be.

Steve was dedicated to advancing the conservative values of fiscal responsibility, fair taxation, limited government that worked for the people and laws that respected the constitution. Steve and I invested ourselves fully in our conservative beliefs and while Steve can’t speak to us now I firmly believe he would want you to join me in supporting the Wright slate of candidates below.

    Governor and Federal Races

    Bob Ehrlich – Governor
    Jim Rutledge – US Senator
Andy Harris – 1st Congressional District

    Statewide Races

Barry Glassman – Senator District 35A
Jason Gallion – Delegate District 35A
Dave Tritt – Delegate District 35A
Susan McComas – Delegate District 35B
Nancy Jacobs – Senator District 34
Patrick McGrady – Delegate District 34A
Glen Glass – Delegate District 34A
Roscoe Bartlett – 6th Congressional District
Pat McDonough – Delegate District 7
Rick Impallaria – Delegate District 7

    Republican Central Committee

    Scott Delong
    Tim Impallaria
    Greg Johnson
    Carol MacCubbin
    Paula Mullis
    John Paff, Jr.

    Teresa Reilly
    Joan Ryder
    Richard D. Schafer
    Lowell D. Sheets
    Larry Stancill
    Rosaria “Rosie” Wolff

Please take time to consider these conservative candidates when you vote Tuesday, September 14, 2010 since by doing so we can change the course of history, restore America and give our children a promising future.

    Many thanks and warmest regards,
    Krista Wright”

  • 11:02 AM – A GOP source tells The Dagger:

Al Redmer was at Abingdon Elementary along with Derek Howell this morning. Traffic was steady.

Roger Zajdel and Pat McDonough’s wife were at Emmorton Elementary, traffic was very light.

  • 1:00 PM – A reliable source tells The Dagger that this 4-foot by 8-foot sign for House of Delegates candidates Jason Gallion and Dave Tritt was in perfect shape at 2:30 a.m. this morning. But sometime in the wee hours of primary morning, a saboteur cut the candidates’ names out of the sign, leaving voters to wonder just who “the conservative leadership team for North Harford” might be. By 10 a.m. the sign was patched, albeit imperfectly, but good enough for voters to get the message.

  • 1:30 PM – The word from Church Creek Elementary School in Belcamp is that District 34 Democratic Senate candidate Rovall Washington has 5 campaign workers at the site. In the past 30 minutes there have been 3 voters. Either he has a huge number of volunteers or is not being very efficient.
  • 2:07 PM – County Executive Candidate Rob Wagner visited Havre de Grace Middle School around 1 p.m. Wagner said turnout there–and elsewhere–has been low, but hoped that the important, after-work 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. hour would bring more traffic.

An election judge at Havre de Grace Middle School said he expected a turnout equal to 30 percent of what’s seen during a presidential election year. That would mean about 600 voters total at the school, he said, with the tally as of 1 p.m. standing at 240.

  • 2:34 PM – Election judge Mary Kate Keesling decked out in red, white, and blue at the Edgewood Recreation Center.

  • 2:38 PM – District A Board of Education candidate Jansen Robinson at the Edgewood Recreation Center.

  • 2:45 PM – County Executive David Craig was spotted at the Edgewood Rec Center shortly before 2 p.m. Craig said he also thought turnout was low, estimating about 25 percent of registered Republicans and 15 percent of registered Democratic voters were hitting the polls. He attributed the lower Democratic number to the party’s members having fewer contested races available to vote on.

  • 3:40 PM – An informant tells The Dagger he went in to Fallston Middle School to check the numbers. The greeter showed him where the numbers were and they looked at them together. She then told him that “we need more Democrats because the Republicans have no good ideas.” He was concerned, since she was the greeter, so he asked an election judge. The judge told him that she was the Chief Judge’s daughter.

He expressed his concern to the Chief Judge and she just laughed and said that her daughter was just a 17 year old intern.

Wonder if she will be greeting people during the General Election?

  • 7:25 PM – The official tote board at Craig/Ehrlich campaign headquarters on Main Street in Bel Air.

  • 7:36 PM – The Campaign Truck Two-Step

Winning an election is all about positioning, and not always the figurative kind. Just ask State Del. 35A challenger Jason Gallion and incumbent Wayne Norman. The Dagger caught up with Republican Central Committee candidate Dave Price, who said the two engaged in a dance of the campaign trucks. Apparently a truck loyal to Norman, with a large sign bearing his name, parked near the entrance to the Level Volunteer Fire Company—but not near enough, as two Gallion trucks pulled on either side to create a Norman truck sandwich. Norman had his truck repositioned, and attempted to file a formal complaint against Gallion, but an election judge ruled the sandwich occured outside the posted “No Electioneering” zone.

  • 7:55 PM – As the polls get ready to close, we’re seeing a number of candidate sign trucks heading down the Main Street drag.
  • 8:00 PM – Polls are closed. Here we go…
  • 8:10 PM – Early voting results are posted. Surprises? House Dems 34A is tight, same for the 34A Republicans.
  • 8:29 PM – Early Voting Results Show Incumbents Holding Strong
  • 9:12 PM – 4 of 74 precincts reporting and things are holding–except Al Redmer has made up ground in the Senate District 7 race, and Hanley has picked up a few percentage points in the County Council District C race
  • 9:40 PM – County Executive David Craig has arrived at his Bel Air headquarters in apparent triumph, and begun his remarks by thanking his team.
  • 9:44 PM – Craig says it looks like 65 percent [of the county have voted for him], means “people like what we’re doing.
  • 10:30 PM – At 10:30 p.m., an hour after David Craig gave a triumphant speech to a throng of supporters, challenger Rob Wagner wasn’t ready to throw in the towel. “We’re still tracking numbers and watching it. Some of the north hasn’t come in yet. We’re watching it optimistically.”

Wagner challenged David Craig’s claim of being a “true Republican,” and also disputed Craig’s sly knock on him as being a party-changer. “Better look at that again,” he said. “I wasn’t [changing party affiliation] either, but I know at one point he was a Democrat.”

  • 11:11 PM – Dave Tritt and Jason Gallion have called Wayne Norman to concede the race for District 35A, according to a source outside Craig/Ehrlich HQ in Bel Air.

Well, it would appear that Mr. Guthrie has been having quite a few ‘tirades’ lately. Just demonstrates his basic street thug mentality and inability to act like a gentleman. His arrogant ‘in your face’ attitude does no credit to the position for which he is running. A lot of us are so done with that self-styled ‘Champion of the People’ and ‘For the People’ load of bull that he is using. Any candidates running for the Democratic party would do well to keep their distance as he appears to be a loose cannon.

His is “Off the rack” as one of his campaign supporters said the other night when he acted out at the Edgewood Community Council meeting. As for John Henkel’s mailer, it is completely true and a matter of public record. He tried to cover his tracks at the end of the day by donating to charity, but saying “I want my money” is typical Dion. He did that as an afterthought after he got some criticism.
I wonder if he would like someone to come up to him with his grandchildren present and behave the way he did. He is not fit for public office.

Exactly; how embarrassing for us too! That “off the rack” behavior displayed by him, and which has also been noted to exist in the Republican party, does little for this County. Unfortunately, it gives the impression that the citizens residing in Districts A and 7 condone this type of bad behavior and gives us litle credence when important matters need political and financial support. We all pay taxes too. These guys just have to go and be replaced by reps that are literate, can demonstrate they have some poise and good manners not to speak of ethics, and intend to actually serve the people who put them into office.

Dion has really lost it, it seems (assuming he ever had it). Why can’t he handle having an opponent like every other politician does? Why does he feel he is so entitled to a council seat? Why is HIS union sending emails for his cohorts? Why would anyone vote for this mad man?

John Henkel please save us from this dangerous man. We know you are the one who can move this county forward.

Why is his union sending e-mails? Because Dion is, was and will always be recognized as a union thug, and surrounds himself with other goons.

I understand that during his tirade this morning he kept going and going and going until the Henkel children, who were standing right there, were in tears, worried that this old maniac was going to attack their father.

Although he has proven time and again what kind of man he really is, this drops him to a new low. What kind of man who claims to be a man of the people would scream at an opponent until the young children cried? Win, lose or draw, Dion needs to look hard in the mirror and see exactly what type of ego-maniacal monster he has become.

        He needs to go. Now.

As an eyewitness to this morning’s unfortunate events I have to say Mr. Frisch’s account was not in the least bit exaggerated and precisely on point. Councilman Guthrie’s behavior was out of line and inappropriate, as seems to be the case more frequently over these past few weeks.
The mailer in question, that has Mr. Guthrie so up in arms, was a piece that was mailed to homes last week stating Mr. Guthrie’s voting history in regard to last year’s county budget. There was nothing slanderous or libelous- it is a matter of public record that Mr. Guthrie was the sole ‘Nay’ vote on the budget. If his voting record and ineffectuality in office are not fair game then what is? There were no personal attacks. There were no comments on his integrity or character- simply a statement of fact.
The Aegis article in question was published on October 14, 2009 and the record of Mr. Guthrie’s budget vote can be found in the county council record http://www.harfordcountymd.gov/WebLink8/0/doc/472998/Page1.aspx.
Mr. Guthrie’s behavior was outlandish and an embarrassment to himself and his supporters. Me, my children, and the people of District A deserve better.

Mrs. Henkel is right about deserving better than what we have had for the last 8 years. Is there anything the man won’t try to take credit for? Oh, yes, there is one thing – having to defend his own record. It is a matter of public record that Dion voted exactly as the mailer stated. He’s just swirming so much today that he can’t even think straight. Win or lose, Dion should be learning a lesson; but alas, he is not capable…

What must those young Henkel children think about our political process on their first campaign experience, when they witness their father being verbally assaulted? This alone makes him an embarrassment to all of us.

Well, I should think that if Guthrie wins at the polls, the citizens in District A should ask him to step down. His actions are and have been unbecoming and he certainly has not been representing the citizens of Edgewood and Joppa anyway. According to his far out campaign sign, he just recently found Magnolia and Winters Run (still in Joppa). It took the better part of 8 years too. Enough is enough! His priorities are not ours.

The only reason Henkel is running is because of a personal vendetta against Guthrie, no more, no less. He has no experience, no plan, and no clue. He proved that at the Joppatowne forum. He doesn’t care about the community, just getting rid of Guthrie. When you ask Henkel why he is running, his first response is “Because Dion didn’t call me back”.

That’s as good a reason as any.

Politicians like Dion forget that the voters put them in office. When they think they are above the voters and do NOT respond to calls or letters from constituents, it is time to go.

It really is as simple as that.

By the way, can you show me all the Henkel signs out there…..oh wait….there aren’t any. No one is supporting him anyway. September 18, 2010 at 10:17 am

Please keep posting here. Each brings out more negative publicity for Dion which I am sure he greatly appreciates.

I have met Dion several times and I remain unimpressed. He likes to take too much credit for things he had little or nothing to do with. He was aptly described in another post as a “snake oil salesman.” Dion likes to brag about his influence in Annapolis but he is not respected there where he is seen as small potatoes, and most of the Harford County delegation thinks he is a goof.

Lets not parse words, while Dion’s bad conduct toward a constituent did not occur during the ECC meeting it did happen in the building where the meeting was being held, and it did happen. The latest incident with Mr. Henkel and his family on election day is just the latest example. The people of this country and this community are taking a close look at their public officials because they do not like what they are seeing – Dion being just one example. The issue here is his behavior which has worn thin in the district. People are onto his game.

Mr. Washington is a nice man but his personal baggage preceded him into the race. He needs to get his personal life in order, stay involved in his community and reconsider his political options at a later date – and stay away from Dion whose only interest in Washington was to solidify his own vote in the African-American community. Mr. Robinson should do likewise.

Bane certainly has relevance to this entire situation. On election day Guthrie, Washington, and Robinson workers were passing out fliers that included Bane’s name as if running on a slate ticket. Bane had to approve of this and in so doing accepts any negative reaction that comes from his association with this group. Bane needs the African-American vote if he wants to keep his job. He either knowingly sold his soul to the devil (Dion) or is a really bad judge of character to connect himself so closely to these three. Either way Bane needs to go.

During his campaign Mr. Robinson has made a big deal out of his role as head of the ECC. This is actually a double edged sword for him. Under his stewardship many influential people have left the ECC or stopped coming to meetings because little is anything ever gets accomplished. Meetings are excessively long with a lot of talk (usually Jansen) but nothing comes of it. It has become the Dion and Jansen show with frequent appearances by Rovall. Jansen may be a good PR man but he lacks leadership skills. Jansen has also laid claim to having helped pass the legislation giving us an elected BOE. He had no more influence than any other citizen. Any name recognition he gets from his connection to the ECC also carries a track record of accomplishment, of which there is scant evidence.

As for Henkel not having many signs, this is irrelevant. A campaign should not be measured by the number of signs a candidate puts out. I do not know what Mr. Henkel’s personal financial situation may be but campaign finance reporting indicates he had minimal contributions. I believe that was how he chose to run his campaign. Dion’s campaign war chest is full of special interest money from outside our community which should raise red flags for all that are paying attention. As for the quality of candidate signs – some good, some REALLY bad. You decide for yourself.

While Washington and Robinson may be highly respected (which is open to debate) and caring about their communities, that is not enough. There are thousands of people out there who care and have much more to offer than these two. The question is whether they could/can get the job done. We need real leadership which neither has demonstrated to this point. That is why Washington is already out of the running and Robinson was beaten so badly in the primary. The people looking closely and at least to this point did/do not like what they see from these two. Final judgment on Dion and Bane will come in November.

You should have seen Dion accosting voters as they approached the Edgewood MS precincts. He acted like an aggressive panhandler, stepping off the curb directly in front of people as they approached the sidewalk. It was shameless. His other minions (a servile dependent creature) Washington and Robinson, and their supporters, swooped down on unsuspecting voters as they walked through a gauntlet of candidate poll workers. From the description of earlier events involving Dion nothing about this man surprises me. Maybe Bane should station a deputy at that location for the entire time of the general election. Oh, I forgot Bane is Dion’s buddy so he wouldn’t do anything to upset the man.

Wowsers. So please tell me, what color is the sky in your world? Do you call your fantasy land Dion-ville? I’m not sure which forum you were watching (um, because I was actually there AND paying attention). What Henkel said was that his unaddressed constituent issue was what prompted him to think about running. Nothing more. No use of the word ‘vendetta’ (which is a great word, I’ll grant you that).

Now I am starting to think that “Against Henkel” is Dion himself. Maybe he has finally figured out how to use spellcheck?

In any event, yes, you are correct. Henkel got his clock cleaned on Tuesday and I’m sure he would be the first one to admit it. But unlike you, he actually put himself out there and chose to run and try to make a difference. It must be so great to be a Monday Morning Political Quarterback. When you have the cojones (look it up) to put yourself out there and subject yourself to public scrutiny, please let us all know. Until then, you’re probably better left being exactly what you are. Completely irrelevant and without any character.

Not so. Bane hooked his wagon to Guthrie, Washington, and Robinson for this election. The flier that was being handed out on election day by these three also contained Bane’s name as if they were running as a slate ticket. Bane certainly approved of this and therefore knowingly bears all the negatives that come from this association. He understands that he needs the African-American vote in district A to keep his job. He either sold his soul to the devil (Dion) or is a really poor judge of character. Either way Bane needs to go.

1st,the reason given was from Henkel himself. That means you don’t pay attention, or care enough to try. Henkel said so himself at the Joppatowne forum. It is you who has absolutly no idea what your talking about, therefore it is you who shouldn’t say anything. The more you talk in this forum the more you prove just how little you know. I laugh after reading everyone of your posts becuase you truly have no clue. Besides, it doesn’t matter anyway, Dion destroyed Henkel in the primary anyway. Your pointless posts remind me a lot of what the Biggs supporters said 4 years ago. And for the record , no I don’t work for Dion. Let me set the record straight. Despite Mr. Guthrie’s self serving assertions, I in no way exaggerated any part of the events I described to the Daggar. I spent twenty years in the Baltimore Police Department and I can certainly say from experience that had a law enforcement officer been present to witness Mr. Guthrie’s actions he would have at minimum told him to stop what he was doing. His actions certainly could be described as disorderly conduct and subjected him to arrest if he had continued in the manner described.

If Mr. Guthrie wanted to voice his objections to some perceived injustice by Mr. Henkel then he should have asked him to step to the side and had a discussion. To conduct himself in such an unprofessional manner before Mr. Henkel’s wife and children is as I stated – despicable. That Mr. Henkel’s son had to come to me with tears in his eyes and say, “I shouldn’t have had to see that” speaks for itself.

Mr. Guthrie is an elected official and is expected to comport himself in a respectable matter. He rightly deserves all the public admonishment heaped upon him from this display of boorish behavior. He owes a public apology to all that were unnecessarily forced to witness his tirade. He should also beg forgiveness from Mrs. Henkel and her two children, but I would not blame Mr. Henkel if he chose to keep Mr. Guthrie as far away from his family as possible.

Dion’s a bit of a loose cannon, but he’s responsive to community concerns and doesn’t only show up in a campaign year. I attend most E.C.C. meetings, was there last week with the Gov’na, and didn’t see any personal attacks during the formal part of the meeting. There were a lot of politicians there though so I didn’t stick around for the grandstanding and posturing afterward.
Bottom line is, Henkel did a poor job of getting his policy positions out there and Dion’s a well-known entity in this area – so he get’s my primary and general vote.

Like hell it did; the only clear message is how important it is to get out and vote. Riley’s loss is a direct result of lack of interested votership and not in the least bit a rebuke on his positions. Perhaps the only issue that may have cost B. Dan Riley is his position on gun ownership (which seems more appropriate for 35A than 34A).

The Democrats simply did not come out and vote.

With no races for County Executive or Council President (and an amazingly understated School Board race in A), and no primary for Council E and F; there was no reason for many Democrats to really vote in the primary (in their mind at least).

Riley lost by around 50 votes (he may not have lost at all yet, I suspect that absentee votes will lean his way); there is no message there other than how important it is for Democrats to get out and vote in the damn primaries.

Not really what I was referring to with that last statement, but in general, I agree with you. Personally I think that Dan Riley was the best HarCo Democrat at listening to constituents and voting in line with the districts’ electorate.
Perhaps it was my fault, as I didn’t space that last part correctly, I was insinuating the lack of turnover in the election and the overstatement of the mentality of “throw the bums out”. Dan Riley doesn’t fall in that category, as this sentiment was in-large contained by a faction of the Republican party.

It’s sweet of everyone to fight over me. But, just as I was with my campaign, I’m an open book and will answer any question. Yes, Councilman Guthrie beat me handily on Tuesday and I called him Tuesday night to congratulate him and wish him well in November. No, I did not take a nap during the Joppatowne forum (but it was pretty hot up on stage). Could I have done a better job getting myself out there? Probably. But it’s all a moot point now. But unlike a lot of people, I put myself (and my family) out there and decided to run. And no, not because Councilman Guthrie did not call me back. That was simply the catalyst that got me thinking about running in the first place. The incident in question happened in 2008 and I did not file to run until June of this year. So, no vendetta as previously suggested.

Thanks to those on this blog who have supported me. I wish I knew who you were.

      Against Henkel,

      Sept. 14
“Dion acted out at the meeting? I was at the meeting, clearly you were not.”

This confrontation was witnessed and reported to the local news media.

      Sept. 14

Refuted by Mr. Henkel. This incident served as just one factor in his decision to run, but was not the primary reason.

      Sept. 14
“You obviously have never met Dion, I have. I have known him for years, he has never forgotten that. Anytime I have ever had a question or concern, he has always been right there for me like he should.”

My post indicates my having met and conversed with Mr. Guthrie several times. Luckily you have never crossed Dion so he still speaks to you.

      Sept.14
“This from someone who probably never attends meetings. There were no confrontations of any kind at the meeting. But, facts aren’t improtant to you obviously. By the way, can you show me all the Henkel signs out there…..oh wait….there aren’t any. No one is supporting him anyway. As far as Robinson and Washington go, they are 2 highly respected men in this community. People who actually care about this community, not about personal vendettas.”

I am a regular attendee at ECC meetings. Not everyone who attends has such a high opinion of Dion – you would be VERY surprised. Many ECC attendees would dispute your assertions (respected men) about Mr. Washington and Mr. Robinson as well. As I said before if you measure the quality of a candidate by the number of signs he puts out I question your judgment.

      Sept. 14
“I agree there is educating to be done, however it is you that needs the education. Sadly, either you people must all have ADD, or you all live in “Make believe land” and not District A.”

Your first personal insult because you did not and cannot refute my comments.

      Sept.18
“And your negative comments will help who you support? Please! You post just opinions, not facts. These posts were about Dion, not Banr, Robinson, or Washington. You people brought them into this, so you must have an grudge against them as well since you brought their names up. Frisch? Henkel?”

No grudge here, I just feel an obligation to give the readers background information and a perspective they usually do not get due to the carefully crafted public persona’s Dion, Bane, Washington, and Robinson try to craft. The public is entitled to know the truth so they can make informed decisions. Again you do not respond to the issues I have raised.

      Sept 18
      “So pathetic……so sad……”

      Another lame response.

      Sept. 17
“At least he wasn’t half asleep sitting in his chair like Henkel was. Dion at least looked like he cared. What does Bane have to do with any of this? NOTHING!”

Again your facts are wrong. Mr. Henkel and other witnesses dispute your assertions. Bane becomes a factor in the discussion because of his deliberate association with Dion, Washington, and Robinson.

      Sept. 17
“I stated why in my earlier post. Please try reading before posting. Thank you.”

We did, you just didn’t like the response.

      Sept. 17
“1st,the reason given was from Henkel himself. I’m just another Republican supporter voting for the best person for the job. I couldn’t vote for him on Tuesday, but I will in November.”

Sticks and stones. I am VERY well informed and that is why you can’t respond in any meaningful way. You resort to petty retorts. Again you refuse to address any specifics in my, or others, previous posts.

      Sept. 17
“Did anyone see the movie starring disgusted and Rt. 40 Guy? It’s called “Dumb and dumber””

There you go again. Can’t you think of anything more creative?

      Sept. 18
“Thank you. What scares me is that people like them have no clue as to the issues, make up stories left and right, and yet they are allowed to vote! They give Rebublicans a bad name.”

You clearly demonstrate your bigoted propensities. Someone disagrees with you and you challenge their intelligence and their civil rights. Where will you put the first gulag?

      Sept. 18
“Again, twisting my words. Pathetic. What pre-schoold did you flunk out of? You can’t argue my points, because I am correct. You twist my words around and argue that. Pathetic.”

At the rick of repeating myself, there you go again. No substantive rebuttal.

      Sept. 18
“Stick to the issues? Ok….as soon as you stick to the issues as well, and stop making up stories!”

No stories, just facts which you still refuse to address.

      Sept. 18
“Maybe in your twisted little mind it is true, just not in reality!”

      This is getting soooooo boring.

      Sept. 19
“You have that all backwards as usual. It is I who have beated down all your lies, not you. You haven’t taken the time to read my comments or even try to understand them. You twist around everything I have written, because you can’t argue what I have said. A lot of what you are saying sounds just like what came from the handful of Biggs supporters 4 years ago…..someone else who was squashed by Dion.”

Oooooooohhhhh, I’m really scared. You sure have “beated” me down. The problem here is that you have either never witnessed or been on the receiving end of one of Dion’s outbursts, or crossed him so that he treats you like dirt. You can’t see the forrest for the trees and therefore you are blind. Loyalty has it’s place but so does reason in the face of sufficient evidence to show that loyalty is misplaced.

Please stop, you are so clearly out of your league.

And for the record, I was in attendance at the Edgewood Community Council meeting. It started at 7:00 and went well past 9:00 because the Governor arrived late. The confrontation in question happened after the meeting had officially adjourned but I was still there, as was Governor O’Malley, Sheriff Bane, Councilman Guthrie, Rovall Washington and several others. While it happened in the middle of the meeting room, everyone was pretty wrapped up in meeting/taking pics with Governor O’Malley so it may not have been witnessed by all.

We still respect you John for being an honest candidate. You were a breath of fresh air in the world of ugly politics. Not like that pompous Guthrie who is only in it to satisfy his own ego and lust for power. Yvonne may not beat Dion but he better be looking over his shoulder. You put a few dents in the king makers armor.
