On Monday February 15, 2010 at approximately 4:30AM, a white male suspect broke a window and burglarized a Freddie’s Fine Wines located in the 1400 block of Mountain Rd. Joppa, MD. The suspect stole approx. $1,000 worth of merchandise and caused over $500 damage to the business and property.
A person matching the description of the suspect in the burglary (pictured here) was seen in the vicinity earlier at the Wawa at 1419 Mountain Rd. Joppa, MD, on February 15, 2010 at approx. 4:04 AM, just prior to the burglary.
Anyone with information in reference to the person seen in the photo is urged to contact Metro Crime Stoppers. Callers may remain anonymous.
On 03/02/10 at approx. 2246 hrs., an individual entered the High’s Dairy Store, 2420 Whiteford Road, Whiteford, MD. 21160 and demanded cash while implying he was armed with a handgun. The suspect fled on foot with a small amount of currency.
Approx. 25 minutes later, the same suspect entered the 7-Eleven Store at 1520 Conowingo Road, Bel Air, MD. 21014 and demanded cash from the clerk.
The suspect is a white male, approx. 18 to 25 yrs of age, blue eyes, 5-5 to 5-7, approx. 140-160 lbs.
Both robberies are being investigated by the Maryland State Police @ the Bel Air Barrack “D”.
Baltimore, Maryland – U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. sentenced Katina Virginia Martin, age 37, of Aberdeen, Maryland, today to 18 months in prison followed by one year of supervised release for signing two false tax returns. Judge Quarles also entered an order that Martin pay restitution of $236,175.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and Special Agent in Charge C. Andre’ Martin of the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation.
“All income is subject to taxes, whether stolen or earned lawfully,” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.
“Prosecuting individuals who intentionally conceal income is a vital element in maintaining public confidence in our tax system,” stated C. Andre’ Martin, Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge. “All Americans have a duty to pay their fair share.”

Baltimore, Maryland – U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr., sentenced Derrick Lamont Prather, age 33, of Havre de Grace, Maryland to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession with the intent to distribute over a pound of powder cocaine.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Harford County Sheriff L. Jesse Bane; Colonel Terrence Sheridan, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police; Chief Randy Rudy of the Aberdeen Police Department; Chief Teresa Walter of the Havre de Grace Police Department; Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration – Washington Field Division; and Harford County State’s Attorney Joseph I. Senator Barbara Mikulski, Congressman Kratovil announce federal investment
(Hickory, MD) – - The Harford County Division of Emergency Operations (EOC) will be the recipient of $750,000 in federal funding to help improve communication infrastructure. (Cheltenham, MD) – The woman found dead outside a youthful offender facility in Prince George’s County has been positively identified as state and county police continue to investigate her apparent murder.
The victim has been identified as Hannah E. Wheeling, 65, of the 200-block of Courtland Place, Bel Air, Md. The victim worked as a teacher of general studies at the Murphy School, a facility located outside the perimeter fence at the Cheltenham Youth Facility in the 11000-block of Frank Tippet Road, Cheltenham, Md.
At about 7:45 a.m. today, a staff member at the school found the victim’s body lying outside a door of the school building on the lower level of the two story brick building. Police were called to the scene and the victim was pronounced deceased.

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, February 18, U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and Congressman Frank Kratovil (both D-Md.) will join Harford County Executive David Craig and members of Harford County’s Emergency Operations Center to announce a major new federal investment in Harford County’s public safety communications technology project.
The project will equip Harford’s first responders with new technology that will allow them to communicate in a safe, seamless and compatible way. The improved technology will help Harford’s first responders enhance security, share information and save lives.
The event will culminate in a tour of Harford’s Emergency Operations Center, which serves a population of nearly 240,000 people, and responds to emergencies within a 450 square mile area.

The 15-year-old girl, Kelsey Elaine Brown, who was critically injured in a Feb. 5 accident when the vehicle in which she was traveling struck a snow plow, has died from her injuries.
Maryland State Police reported today (Monday) that the teenager died over the weekend. She had been at Bayview Hospital in critical and unstable condition.
The accident occured on the afternoon of Feb. 5 when the mini-van being driven by the victim’s mother, Carrie Ann Brown of Darlington, struck a dump truck on Paradise Road at the I-95 overpass in Aberdeen. Police said the dump truck, privately-owned by contracted by the Maryland State Highway Administration, was parked on the side of the road and preparing to plow the forthcoming snow.
