Del. Glass: “The Rumor Mill has Informed Me that I have a Bodyguard and that the Homeless Community Eats Lunch at My Office in Annapolis”

December 23, 2011 By A Dagger Reader 7 Comments

From Del. Glen Glass:

Thank you for your support, it is an honor and a privilege to serve you in Annapolis.

I enjoy being your Delegate despite the injury that sometimes comes along with holding office, and since it is my duty to fight for you I’m committed to do so. What I like best about being a Delegate is my ability to help constituents here at home (the fictitious gossip is less desirable). The rumor mill has informed me that I have a bodyguard and that the homeless community eats lunch at my office in Annapolis. Needless to say it’s made for an interesting story – I had a reporter call me recently to check the validity of these claims.

In the real world, I had a busy summer speaking at high schools and attending grand openings and community meetings. We were thrilled to give out 30 scholarships. I spent time on the Aberdeen base welcoming the troops back and seeing them off. As an Army veteran it was the highlight of my summer. I was happy to help constituents deal with a spectrum of issues, from zoning to barking dogs.

Summer wasn’t all work, however, I was able to purchase a used crab boat, take my Mother crabbing, we caught a nice-sized bushel and enjoyed them with my family.

I planted a large garden with about 40 tomato plants; my Mother and I had fun canning them together. My brother talked me into taking a cat, Tiger, who seems grateful for a second chance (she was on her way to the pound). After several months of socializing, Tiger and my dog Sasha are able to live in the same house without much conflict.

Thank you again. I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Your Delegate and servant,
Glen Glass

I am glad that you have posted Del. Glass’s response to the “Rumors”, and after reading what Del. Glass has been up to over the summer. I still am wondering if he has a body guard and if the homeless are eating out of his office. This was not even mentioned except when he told us “Needless to say it’s made for an interesting story”. Why waste our time with this story at all.

I would have to agree with you. This is a waste of my time and who could care less if he had a body guard or what? The dagger has given us one of those stories that is worthless. I have never heard of an Army Veteran calling aberdeen a base. Im glad you had an interesting summer, but what about the real issues.

I guess that is why APG was not included in BRAC, BASE Realignment and Closing.

This letter is either a joke (aimed at the people of Harford County and Glen Glass) or was written by Forest Gump. I sincerely hope that this was not written by a member of the House of Delegates. The other possibility is brain damage. If that is the case, then it is not something to laugh at.

The content of Mr Glass’s letter is horiffying. With all of the serious matters affecting our county and state,I can’t believe how out of touch with the constituents the Delegate appears. Let’s hope it is a hoax

To clear the air on this, The Dagger does not publish “hoaxes.”

Generally speaking, when a local elected official sends us an open letter to the people of Harford County, we publish that letter unedited and without questioing whether some readers may deem it a “waste of time.”

This letter is from Del. Glass to his constituents.
