Former Gov. Ehrlich and Rep. Harris Endorse Sen. Jacobs in 2nd District Congressional Race

February 20, 2012 By Dagger News Service 14 Comments

From the office of Sen. Nancy Jacobs:

CONGRESSMAN ANDY HARRIS ENDORSES SENATOR NANCY JACOBS

In her bid for the Congressional seat in District 2, State Senator Nancy Jacobs is proudto announce she has received the backing and support of Congressman Andy Harris.

Harris is highly respected by the Republican Majority in House of Representatives under Speaker John Boehner. Harris says Nancy has what it takes to help reduce the national deficit, kick start the economy and create jobs for Americans.

“I trust Nancy Jacobs. That’s why I have endorsed Nancy Jacobs for Congress. I need Nancy to help me fight the tax and spend liberals in Congress. Join me in supporting Nancy Jacobs for Congress and help restore our greatnation.”

Congressman Andy Harris

Senator Jacobs is grateful for Congressman Harris’ support. She says it’s time for new leadership, “We must improve the lives of Marylanders in District 2 who are fed up with inaction by their elected leaders in Washington”. It’s time to challenge an incumbent who has lost sight of the concerns of the people back home.

Jacobs has served in the Maryland House of Delegates, and the Maryland Senate, and as Senate Minority Leader.

A Special Letter from Bob Ehrlich concerning Nancy Jacobs

THE HONORABLE ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR.
Governor of Maryland, 2003 – 2007
U.S. House of Representatives, 1995 – 2003
Maryland House of Delegates 1987 – 1995

February 15, 2012

I write to you today with an urgent request that you support a good friend of ours, State Senator Nancy Jacobs who is challenging Dutch Ruppersberger in Maryland’s redrawn 2nd Congressional District.

For 8 years I represented the wonderful people of Maryland’s 2nd Congressional District. And in 2002, the Annapolis leadership used their map-drawing powers to draw me out of my district by just a few blocks. But at least that power play failed, as I made a successful run for governor.

We have the opportunity to send Nancy Jacobs to Washington to fight for our values. And I can’t think of a better candidate to beat one of Pelosi’s incumbent lieutenants. Nancy Jacobs has my full support. I know she will have yours too.

Nancy will need every last penny to unseat a Pelosi-backed incumbent. And that’s why I’m asking you to make a generous contribution of any amount from $5 to $2500 today.

You and I both know that Washington is broken. Massive deficits darken the skies. A liberal culture of tax, spend, and regulate dominates the national agenda. A shake-up is no longer optional, it’s a necessity to sustain all that we have come to know and love about our country.

Truthfully, I fear for our future. I fear for our children. But I am optimistic that sending a true leader such as Nancy to Congress is the best way to turn the tide.

Nancy is up against an entrenched liberal monopoly that is desperate to regain the House of Representatives. They will spend millions of dollars in special interest money against her.

I’m asking you to contribute today to help Nancy Jacobs win.

Together, we can and we will make a difference. Join me in supporting Nancy Jacobs for Congress!

Thank you for all that you have done.

Yours truly,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.

P.S. Your support today will help Nancy wage a successful campaign. With campaign finance deadlines looming large, don’t wait to show your support. And one more thing, I’m proud of your decision to join me in supporting Nancy!

    Compare Jacobs’ website http://www.nancyjacobsforcongress.com/

    To Smith’s website http://www.larrysmith4congress.com/

Do you notice the “issues” tab on Smith’s? Do you see anything anywhere at all on Jacobs’ that indicates what her positions are on national issues?

It is insulting to run for national office without making a single statement on national issues.

Ruppersburger will win. Nancy will lose. Nancy will go back to the house of delegates. Nancy will lose her seat in the next election since Cecil county was taken away from her. I have no idea why she is running unless she has something on Ruppersburger, which is doubtful. She should have tried to impress her constituents in her district, this Congressional thing is folly and a waste of time and money. This is a one horse state with stupid electorate who put dummies like omalley back in when they know good and well he is bent on making a national name for himself by taxin us to death, Thank you PG, Monty and Balto City and sometimes stupid Balto County. That’s just reality of MD. If Nancy is doing this because she’s trying to further a two party system in this communist state then that’s admirable, stupid, but admirable.

If I remember correctly, Governor Ehrlich, lost badly to O’Malley and is a has been in our state. Congressman Harris: Maryland did not send you to Congress to regulate horse trailers and make pals with Mr. Boehner. Get ready for this Dagger readers- these two will endorse Nancy for the “first” time again in two weeks. Larry Smith has a legitimate chance going the distance in District 2 because he is a Veteran, NON-CAREER POLITICIAN, and genuine outsider that can carry the spirit of the 2010 election that led to so many Republican victories across the country.

  6. Nancy Jacobs is a Liberal RINO says

    February 21, 2012 at 3:35 pm

Nancy Jacobs has voted for the Democrats budget for at least the past five years and she voted for the BGE deregulation.

She consistently takes the path of least resistance and we cannot rely upon her to cut spending at the federal level when she hasn’t done it at the state level.

A vote for Nancy Jacobs is vote for higher taxes and more ineffective government. We need a better than Nancy has to offer. She is reliably a Liberal Rhino.

No one should get upset with Nancy Jacobs who is a Liberal RINO for hanging with wine and cheese pseudo-republicans or should you be concerned that she votes against the interest of working families.

You should just accept that Nancy Jacobs who is a Liberal RINO will always do what’s best for Nancy and her highfalutin rich liberal friends both on the tennis court and at the beach in Florida.

A vote for Nancy Jacobs who is a Liberal RINO is just like voting for a liberal democrat.

I agree that Dutch must go and I will do everything I can do to stop him. However, we do not need a Maryland moderate like Nancy Jacobs. Nancy threw her arms around Bob Ehrlich who gave us the flush tax, higher energy bills with deregulation and raised just about every fee. Every time I pay a fee or tax I regret ever donating to Bob. Had Bob governed as a conservative like he was elected to do, he would have been there for eight years. Bob also knows that he can control Nancy and so he endorsed her. Another problem I have with Nancy is you cannot count on her to show up to vote. We also know that Congressman Andy Harris endorsed her. His endorsement came before the filling deadline. I bet had he known Nancy was going to have conservative competition in the primary he would have held off on his endorsement. Andy got the support of the tea party in which I am very active. I have never seen Nancy at any tea party function and in my opinion she will not get the tea party endorsement. We need more tea party candidates elected to congress like Florida Congressman Allen West and our Congressman Andy Harris. It is time for conservatives to take our party back!
