The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) announced Lynn Wilkinson has joined their team to further the organization’s financial excellence in supporting people with differing abilities in Harford and Cecil County as their new Chief Financial Officer. She comes to The Arc NCR with over 15 years of financial experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
“I’m excited to be working for an organization that has an incredible impact on our community,” says Wilkinson.
Wilkinson is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, and received her BS in Accounting from Towson University. Her focus at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region is to lead the strategic financial and information technology planning for the organization. Her exemplary leadership skills, team-player mentality, strong comprehension of financial and grant reporting, as well as her budgeting skills make her a valuable new senior leadership team member at The Arc NCR.

This article fails to mention what “The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region” is and what it does. I have no idea what this group is all about.
Hi Pavel – glad you asked! I work at The Arc NCR…we are a nonprofit in Harford County that provides support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes supported employment (helping people find jobs and providing training), supported living (independent housing), services for youth transitioning out of high school, and Treatment Foster Care. ARC is an acronym for Association of Retarded Citizens (or something close to that.)
It has actually not been an acronym for about 20 years. “The Arc” means supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities over “the arc” of their lifetime.
Thanks for correcting this – I recalled the acronym from many years ago.
