HAGERSTOWN, Md.—Eight Harford student-athletes have been named Region XX Academic All-Region by maintaining a 3.6 cumulative GPA for at least 36 credit hours, Bo Myers, the chair of the Region XX Academic Awards committee, announced recently.
Harford leads the 26-school regional classification with eight honorees on the Academic All-Region squad, while Potomac State had the second-most award-winners with six and Beaver County and Prince George’s tied for third with five student-athletes each. Of the 26 schools in Region XX, 16 were represented on the list.
The women’s lacrosse team leads Harford’s selections to the Academic All-Region team with three recipients: Melissa Warczynksi, Lyndsie Ludwig and Denise Hidan, with Ludwig also representing the women’s soccer team. Taylor Dize (men’s soccer), Courtney Brewer (women’s tennis), Chris Pappas (men’s basketball), Paul Labe (baseball) and Audrey Werneke (softball) round out the Harford winners.
