From the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum:
“The Days When We Were Young”
by Rick Spencer
“The Days When We Were Young” is a concert of songs from four theme-based historic music presentations developed by historian and performing artist Rick Spencer. The songs were popular in America between the late 1700s and the 1890s. They include songs of outlaws, villains and rogues, some of the greatest hits of the Civil War, music from the Presidential campaign of 1856 and songs composed by America’s earliest professional songwriters. The program is a fascinating and entertaining journey through the history of a younger America. Rick Spencer sings and accompanies himself on guitar and 5-string banjo.
