From the Aberdeen Police Department:
(Aberdeen, MD) – Members of the Aberdeen Police Department will conduct a DUI-Sobriety Checkpoint on May 27, 2011. The checkpoint is being conducted in conjunction with the National Campaign ‘Checkpoint Strike Force”. The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of drunk and drugged drivers on Harford County roadways this weekend.
Sgt. Severn, checkpoint supervisor, commented: “The Aberdeen Police Department remains committed to ensuring the roadways within our City/County are as safe as possible for the traveling public, there will be no tolerance for people who operate a vehicle while intoxicated or impaired.”
The Aberdeen Police Department wishes everyone sober and safe travels during this Memorial Day Holiday weekend. We encourage motorists to report possible impaired drivers, call 911 or your local police.

Would it be possible for the Aberdeen Police to team up with Amtrak police or MTA to start intense patroling of the train station in Aberdeen? Some days, the parking lot there is filled with zombies – drug users, walking around begging for $. Is there some sort of clinic nearby? If so, move it away from there! There are also young gang bangers hanging out there who give some ladies crap and when men tell them to back off, these thugs start the macho stuff, feigning for a gun. I am a resident who commutes to my job via train and should not have to deal with these low life on my way to work. I pay taxes and would like to see a drug free/gun free commuter zone.
