Cancer will kill an estimated 10,000 Marylanders this year. Federal lawmakers have the power to guarantee access to adequate and affordable health care coverage, fund critical cancer research and screening programs.
Every day, our elected officials make decisions that affect cancer patients and their families. Throughout the election season, volunteers for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network plan to educate the public and candidates about cancer issues and the candidates’ positions on those issues.
As a cancer survivor, I am asking everyone to visit CancerVotes.org to learn where their candidates for federal offices stand on public policy issues that will help make cancer history.
We plan to hold the winners, whoever they are, accountable for their commitments to fight cancer.
