Brian Goodman says
Great catch:
“Shortly after 1:30am on Saturday, August 4, Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1300 block of Tralee Circle in Aberdeen, MD for a 911 call regarding a 48 year old female who had just been assaulted and shot in her home by her live in boyfriend.”

Sheeple says
“A caller from the 1900 block of High Point Road reported Wednesday that a bat was “dive bombing” children”
So take your kids inside, why would you call the police for this? People in this county have become so helpless.
noble says
What are they going to do, shoot the bat?
People are lazy and call 911 for everything.
Kharn says
Because it could have rabies.
The Money Tree says
Bats are really quite beneficial and not the boogey-man they’ve been unfortunately painted as. I would venture to guess that the kids were throwing something…used to be lots of bats around here and as kids we figured out they’ll follow moving objects in the air nearly to the ground. They’re hunting; looking for bugs not kids but they don’t see well and rely on sonar to figure out what’s where in their airborne world. Wish we had more bats; there’d be a whole lot less mosquitoes. Sort of agree with the first comments here – if you’re freaked out by wildlife maybe you ought not live in Forest Hill and frankly calling the police because there are bats flying about is batty.

John Paff says
Since 1990 17 people of contracted rabies from bats. Would you call the police because a dog walked to close to their children?
Sheeple says
Mr. Paff, I bet they would. My wife brought her horse trailer in our development that we lived in at the time to get something from the house, some woman called the police to report it because she thought the horse could get out and tramole her kids to death, the trailer was empty by the way.
The Money Tree says
Spot on Mr. Paff.
Cdev says
More people die annually from vending machines than get rabies from bats!
Sam says
Dont say that. Omalley and the rest of the Democrats will now want to ban vending machines.
ALEX R says
Never happen. They get too much revenue from them.
Sheeple says
There are just no words, I hope you have never reproduced.
ALEX R says
I love reading this column while at the same time I sometimes think it is a waste of space. And I’m not talking about the comments being posted.
Each time I read it I get a renewed appreciation of what the HCSO is facing when they answer the telephone. I know it can’t really happen but I wish there were a way to give people a ticket for making stupid calls to 9-1-1. Just once I would like to see “A caller from the 800 block of Main Street was arrested for making a stupid and unnecessary call to 9-1-1.”
noble says
For good or bad, there’s a lot of space to waste on the internet, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
Between all the blotters and you, me, and every other nutjob reading The Dagger combined, I don’t think we’d be taking a grain of sand off the beach with our ramblings.
