what the hel, man? says
“Gun shaped lighter” so does that mean with extreme imagination it would be represented as a firearm? Kind of like taking one bite out of a pop tart and a busy body dialing 911 because it looks like a star trek phaser?
When will this crazyness stop?
Fed up says
Just wait til someone figures out that a banana is shaped like a handgun…they’ll be banned from all public eateries and gathering places!
Ted. says
The state of maryland is shaped like a gun!!! Ban it
Sandra says
Kids run around in my neighborhood playing with toy guns all the time. Its not a problem. The caller would rather the kids sit inside, play videogames and take bathsalts.
MDisTAXHELL says
“A caller from the 1600 block of Cynthia Court reported Sunday a bat was in the caller’s basement.” Really, this is what is has come to ? Call 911 for anything. Progressives should be so proud, people are almost totally dependent on Government for everything.
what the hel, man? says
A lot of calls go through non emergency number as well, but yeah, it seems 911 has turned into a citizens personal dispatching hub for non emergency related life events.
Cdev says
That isn’t new. I remember when I moved here 10-15 years ago there was a call on Carr’s mill road for the same block as the high school for a monday afternoon that said kid’s where hanging around. Another call in Fallston was for a lady who had a bird in her house and another call later letting them know they hadn’t responded to the first call.
Nix Applin says
The person probably called the non-emergency number, and if you can’t safely catch a bat without touching it, calling the police is the right thing to do. They can carry rabies.
Fed up says
Maybe they ought to come up with the non-emergency, I simply need to talk to the police number. I know I’ve had to do some searching for the right number on a few occasions where I did not want to dial 911, but I needed to speak to the local police/sheriff. If it’s not convenient, people are taking the easy route – used to be dialing “0” for the operator.
Cdev says
you can still dial 0 there is simply a fee. Happened when phone was deregulated.
Kharn says
311 does not work in HarCo?
Nix Applin says
311 does not work in Harford County.
Nix Applin says
Each Precinct has a non-emergency number, but as was mentioned, the numbers are really difficult to find. They should make them more widely-known.
I Wish I Was A Fed says
A caller from the 3300 block of Kreitler Road reported a suspicious object in the sky Friday.
