William S. James Elementary School Locked Down After Abingdon Bank Robbery

William S. James Elementary School in Abingdon was locked down by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office early Friday afternoon as a precautionary measure after a nearby bank was robbed.

Police said Harford Bank was robbed Friday afternoon and a suspect fled in the direction of the elementary school, prompting the lockdown.

The male subject in the included photos is being sought for questioning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on December 5, 2008 at approx 12:40 pm at the Harford Bank located in the 2900 Block of Emmorton Road, Abingdon, MD.

The black male is described as medium build in his mid-twenties wearing a dark blue coat, dark skull cap, and bandanna. He displayed a black in color handgun, robbed the bank and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash towards Abingdon Road.

    More information on this incident, including a description and possibly security camera photographs of the bank robbery suspect, as expected to be released later this afternoon by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

    Sadly, with the economy being in such a tailspin, I think incidents like this will become more commonplace. People are just friggin desperate. Go Dagger!

    Have to disagree with you Dave. Desperate times makes good people do bad things sometimes. It’s hard watching your family go hungry.

    If we gave every cop in the country one “summary execution” every year, we could eliminate a lot of the scum who make our society less decent.
