PHILADELPHIA—The Harford women’s basketball lost its second straight, but freshman Kiara Reeves (Aberdeen, Md./C. Milton Wright) tallied her seventh double-double of the season in a 67-59 loss to Philadelphia on the road on Wednesday night.
The Fighting Owls (6-13) took a three-point deficit into the half, 30-27, but couldn’t overcome the Colonials, who outscored Harford 37-32 in the second stanza on the way to the eight-point victory.
Reeves tied her second-highest total for the season with 16 boards and added 12 points for the Owls, while swiping four balls and blocking two shots. Sophomore Jasmine Parsons (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) led Harford with 14 points and was just two rebounds shy of a double-double with eight, while also blocking two shots.
Alicia Wilson paced the Colonials with a game-high 21 points, while Edna Marrant added 17 and Justine Pearson and Christina Williams each tallied 10 points.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Friday when they travel to CCBC-Dundalk for a 6:00 p.m. game.
