On the Dragon side Catie Meyers was tops with five goals on the day, while keeper Pamela Thomas corralled six shots for Howard.
The Owls drew first blood as Pollitt added an unassisted tally just 2:12 into the first period, but Meyers would answer quickly, adding her first of five goals just over a minute later.
Freshman Nichole Terry (Havre de Grace, Md./Harford Tech) fed Warczynski for a score at the 25:45 mark and added her own goal off Bush’s pass 14 seconds later to give Harford a 3-1 lead.
Howard would battle back to a tie with 17:00 left in the first but would not come any closer as Harford took a 9-7 advantage into the break.
The Dragons wasted no time in the second, scoring five goals within the first 10 minutes to take a 12-9 lead by the 20:37 mark.
Pollitt finally converted for the first Owl score of the period with an unassisted goal with 16:35 remaining but neither team would score for the next 15 minutes until Warczynski finished a free position shot at the 1:55 mark to put the Owls within one, 12-11.
Harford wouldn’t manage a shot during their next possession, and instead the Dragons’ Alli Novak would add one more tally with four seconds remaining on the clock to cement the 13-11 win for Howard.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Tuesday, March 31 when they host defending national champion, and current No. 1 CCBC-Catonsville at 3:30 p.m. at Harford Stadium.
