Del. Jennings Gives His “Thanks” To United States Veterans

From the office of Del. J.B. Jennings:

While American families begin preparing to celebrate their family traditions and homecomings for the Thanksgiving Holiday, Delegate J.B. Jennings (R-7th Legislative District), members of the Towson Elks Lodge No. 469, and several volunteers gave their thanks by spending their evening serving Thanksgiving dinners to United States Veterans.

On Thursday, November 19th, Delegate Jennings and others volunteered their time to provide a holiday dinner for the Veterans from the Greens Street and Loch Raven VA Medical Centers at the Elks Lodge No. 469, located in Towson, Maryland.

Every year, the Towson Elks Lodge hosts a Thanksgiving Dinner for Veterans spanning from WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the Gulf War, as gesture of appreciation and honor for their sacrifices and service to our Country. The Veterans received an All-American home cooked holiday spread and a played a few rounds of bingo with the volunteers.

During the evening, Delegate Jennings presented a Legislative Citation to the Towson Elks Lodge in recognition for their generosity and community service to the Unites States Military, specifically U.S. Veterans.

Following the event, Delegate Jennings stated, “This was the first time that I was apart of this event and it certainly will not be my last. To me, this evening was an honor on so many personal levels. I had the privilege to give a small token of appreciation back to so many that have given so much for me and our country. As a member of the Air National Guard, having an opportunity to provide these men with a holiday dinner and share some engaging conversations with them will be something that I will never forget.”

Delegate Jennings wishes to thank the Towson Elks Lodge, Ron Blachowicz, and everyone who volunteered to help make this Thanksgiving Dinner Event memorable to the Veterans. Delegates Jennings also extends a special thanks to VA Medical Centers for their assistance and to all of the Veterans who attended the dinner.
