Attached is a notice to lower the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag tomorrow, December 1, 2009, from sunrise to sunset in honor of Army SPC Christopher J. Coffland.

Army SPC Christopher J. Coffland

This is to advise you that Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half staff on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, from sunrise to sunset. This is in honor of Army SPC Christopher J. Coffland, of Baltimore, Maryland, who died on November 13, 2009 while supporting combat operations in Wardak province, Afghanistan.

This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.
