Police Seek Two Who Invaded Home and Robbed Four Elderly Women in Edgewood

January 18, 2010 By Dagger News Service 10 Comments

From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:

(Edgewood, MD – January 18, 2010) On Sunday, January 17, 2010 at approximately 10pm, a home invasion occurred, in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive, Edgewood MD, after a guest in the apartment opened the door to two males who entered the home and robbed the four women in the apartment. The victims of the incident include the resident, a 63-year-old woman and three elderly females between the ages of 62 and 95 years old that were visiting for the evening.

The two suspects knocked on the door, stating it was “Junior”. Since the victims have a friend with the same name, they opened the door. The first suspect is described as a light complexion black male, with a baby face wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans, somewhere between the age of 17- 22. The second suspect, also between the age of 17-22, is described a darker complexion black male with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt covering his face with a beige/tan bandana. The first suspect entered the residence and proceeded to the resident’s bedroom where he brandished a gun and demanded any pain medication and valuables that she may have. The second suspect stayed in the living room watching over the guests until both suspects fled the apartment in an unknown direction. Stolen from the group of women were purses, cash, bankcards, a cell phone, various medications and personal identification. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact Detective Pete Georgiades of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5431.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens of Harford County to practice good personal safety habits at all times. Always keep doors and windows locked. Use a peephole/door viewer before opening the door to anyone. Do not rely on a door chain for your protection when getting identification of a visitor and never open the door to a stranger. For additional personal safety tips, visit the community safety section of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office website at www.harfordsheriff.org.

take heed libs….the ‘bad guys had the gun’….and i’m sure it was registered, and they had permits ‘to carry’…Right!…taking guns from the law abiding sheep is not the cure folks…
had one of these ladies been killed in this robbery…the scene would be sad at the funeral home…

the innocent need guns, to protect what they have and the ones they love…

you’ll never get the guns from the criminals…trust me…
but the sonsabitches who rob and steal, rape and kill…oh yes Lordy Miss Clawdy…they will be armed to the teeth, till the end of time…

no control of guns…let’s make it a fair fight…the criminals will never turn in weapons…only the law abiding will obey the law….

Hey, have some respect for cultural diversity! It’s MLK weekend so they celebrate by robbing and stabbing and shooting. (See the Diamond Club story.) Don’t try to impose your white, Euro-centric values on them.

The assailants used the name “junior” to gain access to the home, “junior” was not with them, but they obviously knew “junior” and knew that “junior” knew the ladies. They knew that the ladies had prescription pain killers (given their age easy to assume, but you don’t commit this crime on an assumption)! All of this indicates the suspects are from the neighborhood, and some one knows who they are and until we as a community stand up to the criminals and let them know that we as a whole will not stand for this anymore the problem will never get any better! More officers will help the cause, but the people of edgewood need to stand up and take back their community!

the crime has gotten out of control in edgewood, and i agree the community of edgewood needs to step it up. in the past two weeks there has been shootings stabbings armed robbery all in this area, the police do there job but the community is scared to speak up, we need to do organize with our churches, our schools, and citizens and let the outlaws know we will not stand for this.

Elect a Sheriff that treats criminals like criminals and we’ll see improvements. Jesse Bane is a nice guy and likes to be liked by everyone including the criminals.

If my wife is making sandwiches for the entire family, should I sit back and complain that she is not giving my sandwich all the attention or should I get off my sofa and help her make the sandwiches? The Sheriffs can not fix this problem on their own…The community and the Sheriffs need to work hand in hand! That is the only solution!
