Harford County Health Officer Susan Kelly reiterates to the public that, “We’ve not seen the last of the H1N1 flu in Harford County. Currently, it remains in circulation and there is still a need for folks to be vaccinated.” According to officials at the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the H1N1 influenza is expected to circulate for at least several more months and continues to cause hospitalizations and deaths.
Since having received a sizeable delivery of H1N1 flu vaccine in the final weeks of 2009, the Health Department has held flu vaccination clinics in the Town of Bel Air at the historic Armory building, in the cities of Aberdeen and Havre de Grace, at the Harford Mall, and, in partnership with Klein’s ShopRite, at their store locations in Riverside and Aberdeen.
As a reminder, H1N1 flu vaccinations also continue to be offered on a “walk-in” basis at the Health Department’s Woodbridge operations center on Wednesdays from 1:30 – 4:30pm and Fridays, from 8:30am – 4:30pm throughout the month of February.
