From Harford County Government:
(Bel Air, MD) – – The Growing Home Campaign, the national award winning tree planting program for homeowners, began its fifth year March 15 and continues through December 31, 2010. The Growing Home program is an innovative public-private partnership between Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Harford County, several local retail nurseries and garden centers, and homeowners.
The purpose of this public-private partnership is to increase the tree canopy on private property in our region. This is done by offering homeowners comprehensive education about planting trees and a cash incentive. The cash incentive is a $10 Growing Home tree coupon from the Growing Home brochure redeemable toward the purchase of a qualifying tree with a retail value of at least $25.
All of the Growing Home Campaign information is free and widely available at county and city facilities and the website www.growinghome.info.
