From the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County:
In an effort to reach more families and serve more youth Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County has entered into an agreement with the City of Aberdeen to manage and operate the Aberdeen City pool in 2010.
Under the agreement the Clubs agreed to operate 12 noon until 8pm, 7 days a week once school ends and weekends between Memorial Day and last day of school.
Community members will be treated to an open house and free barbeque on Saturday, May 22 between 11am and 3pm. This is a great opportunity for people to visit the pool and see everything offered. Season memberships will also be on sale and staff will be available to answer any questions.
Family memberships to the pool have been reduced by 70 percent from last year for Aberdeen residents and 55 percent for non-city residents. Aberdeen resident rate for a family of 5 is $125 and non-city-resident rate is $200. It will offer opportunities for family parties and businesses to host corporate events. Group discounts are also offered to school and camp groups for usage during the summer.
“Our focus in 2010 continues to engage more families spending quality time together,” said Randy Acosta, Executive Director, “The Aberdeen Family Swim Center is a great opportunity for the whole family not solely to spend time together but maybe engage in a pick up football game on the field or a barbeque under the pavilion.”
Aberdeen Swim Center is located at 615 Old Robinhood Road in Aberdeen. For more information on the Aberdeen Family Swim Center log onto bgcharfordco.org/pool or call 410-676-1020 ext.205.
