From Rebecca Weir Nelson, Democratic candidate for State Senate District 7:
Our Post should not bear this burden, demeaning our Commander or any Post will not correct the ills of Society.
Our soldiers suicide rate is at an all time high, I question the Harford County Liquor Board’s decision (to misusing our government resources) to prosecuting a 70 year old vietnam veteran, volunteer post commander and an American Legion Post.
To fine a humble historic American Legion for a retailiation killing that occured next door, that could of occured anywhere; speaks volumes of their lack of wisdom and understanding of our Society Today. The three hours worth of resources waisted – abusing a veteran, should of been spent addresses the genocide in America.
The lack of respect for an elderly veteran, targeting our American Legion, is wrong on so many levels.
Our veterans are taught to support each other and believe: “There are no heritics (non-believers) in the fox holes.”
Sadly, some of our neighborhoods in America, in Maryland, in Harford County; do have ‘foxholes’. To misdirect prosecution towards the Post when the ‘foxhole’ spreads to this areas, screams: that it is ok to ignore young people killing young people as long as it is not in our neighborhood, of Bel Air. And that is wrong.
Our Citizens are not better protected by the actions of the Liquor Board. Nor is it acceptable for the Board Administrator to demean and belittle an elderly veteran. How can anyone find it advisable to point fingers in an innocent black Post Commander and ask as Ms. Thess did for over 1 1/2 hours, “Did you have mashed potatoes with your chicken, bet they were chicken wings?!
Are our young people disrespecting life for we allow disrespect on other levels?
As I am questioning the lack of wisdom and understanding of this board, I would like to inspire all to reach out to your neighborhood American Legions and VFW Post. And encourage all that a safe haven on American soil are our Post; now, if only our government would remember our veterans with proper actions, by not being a government bully!
Maryland General Assembly failed our veterans ignoring voting for their gaming license. No respect for our veterans and the numerous Post whose volunteers have carried most through, however; Glen Mar Post lost it’s post and several are just bearly holding on. Edgewood Post’s roof caved in, last winter. And, now the Post in Bel Air is being fined for 60 days.
Stuck between wars so to speak, the elderly veterans are dying and our younger veterans have not yet joined. Most veterans join around 50 years of age. A handful of veterans as with most organizations are working, volunteering to maintain most Post. Please support our veterans young and old.
And, encourage honoring and respecting Commander Godfrey Clayton.
I am calling for Administrator Kathryn M. Thess to resign for her misuse of Power, her conduct is not worthy of a State employee.

Thank you, for reading and responding! God Bless our Veterans!
Austin Healey says
And that is why I am voting for Jennings……
Rebecca Weir Nelson says
Jennings does little to nothing for Harford County, NO’s & Zero’s.
He received a ZERO in 2009, http://www.mdlcv.org
He voted against forclosurer help.
He voted No’s and Zeros!
He voted against SMARTED TRANSPORTATION, against solar power,
against forest conservation.
He was absent for unemployment, absent for insurance.
On April 20th 2009, Jennings and Norman were asked to resign as a voice of Harford County; by the Harford County Delegation.

Dear God…..This woman’s whole campaign is a “waist” of time and resources.
I am calling for Rebecca Nelson to recind her candidacy, for her mispelling of a common word. Her weak grasp of the English language is not worthy of a State Senate Seat.
BSmeter says
Nelson and Glass; Harford County sure does know how to bring total nuts into the political arena, doesn’t it? I think we should set them up with each other, a blind date perhaps?
Rebecca Weir Nelson says
I do remember the saying, “better to go to waste, then to my waist.” God Bless my Italian Mother!
Rebecca Weir Nelson says
John, When you are talking to God, pray for Ms. Nelson.
Do not overlook the content of my message, for a misspelled word.
Our veterans deserve honor and respect.
Who are you to use God for disrespecting a veterans advocate?
I want us to be able to mention God other than when we hear taps.
And, I will pray for you to not use God for evil, disrespecting others; remembering: forgive those who are against us…
….And Vote, for the one who is for us; a veterans advocate, a warrior for our environment….

Billy Jack says
Your content is absurd and you can not write a cogent sentence, let alone a paragraph worthy of someone running for the office you seek. You are an embarrassment.
Rebecca Weir Nelson says
You are not the ‘Billy Jack’, I remember!

John:
Rescind is spelled as shown here. Apparently Rebecca Nelson doesn’t have a monopoly on spelling errors.
