From Harford County Public Schools:
A routine, random drug dog scan was performed at Havre de Grace High School Friday, November 5th. The scan, done as part of the school system’s commitment to keeping illicit drugs out of the schools, was accomplished using a canine under the direction of the Havre de Grace Police Department.
The scan involved 245 lockers being sniffed by the dog. The 30-minute scan – supervised by three Havre de Grace police officers, one drug dog, two administrators from the school, and the school system’s Coordinator of Safety and Security – produced one alert that resulted in no controlled dangerous substances.
Two routine, random drug dog scans were performed at Edgewood Middle and Edgewood High schools yesterday, November 9th.
The Edgewood Middle scan involved 289 lockers being sniffed by the dog. The 20-minute scan – supervised by four Harford County Sherriff’s Officers, one drug dog, three administrators from the school, and the school system’s Coordinator of Safety and Security – resulted in one alert producing no controlled dangerous substances.
The Edgewood High School scan involved 384 lockers being sniffed by the dog. The 15-minute scan – supervised by four Harford County Sherriff’s Officers, one drug dog, three administrators from the school, and the school system’s Coordinator of Safety and Security – resulted in no alerts.

typical…big headline, always the same schools and at the very bottom “no alerts found” why does C. Milton, Fallston, Southhampton never get the dogs or the drug headlines – do they seriously think those kids don’t use/sell drugs ?? I hope no one is that stupid.
Cdev says
They do. I have read them in the Aegis before. The dogs come to each secondary school twice a year.
me says
really..I’ve been here 15 yrs, how come I’ve never seen them twice a year, every year in The Aegis….but Edgewood gets published like clockwork. I do remember once I saw Bel Air with the headline (I was shocked)perhaps the dogs come – but the other schools don’t get the headline drug dogs in “fill in the name of the school” plastered on the front page…
Cdev says
Then you are not paying attention. I remember one from North Harford where it says cigarettes where found. They may not get everyone in but they are conducted twice a year in all secondary schools and the Aegis uses it as filler.
