A proposed reduction in the number of parking spaces required for age-targeted housing in the Town of Bel Air will be among the new business discussed Monday night by the town commissioners.
During Monday’s Board of Town Commissioner’s meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall, the commissioners are expected to discuss an amendment to the town’s existing development regulations, which would reduce the number of parking spaces requires for “55 and Over Housing” from 2.5 spaces per unit, to 2 spaces per unit.
According to the ordinance:
“The Bel Air Planning Commission recommended amending the Bel Air Development Regulations from 2.5 to 2 parking spaces per unit for 55 and Over Housing based on findings of an independent analysis showing that both local and national standards and needs support the reduced parking requirement.”
Also during its Monday night session, the town commissioners are expected to approve a vehicle purchase and act upon the reappointment of members to the Tree Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, and Planning Commission.
