From the Maryland State Police, Bel Air Barrack:
(Bel Air, MD) – Troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the CVS Pharmacy in Bel Air early this morning.
At approximately 3:45 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the CVS that is located at 1221 Churchville Road. Upon arrival, they learned a white male, approximately 18-25 years of age, entered the store while concealing his face. The suspect proceeded directly to the pharmacy where he jumped over the counter and pointed a handgun at the pharmacist. The pharmacist complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an unknown quantity of prescription medication. The suspect then fled from the store in an unknown direction.
A State Police K-9 Unit responded with a bloodhound to search the area. Despite a thorough search by troopers and deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was not located. Investigators from the Bel Air Barrack Criminal Investigation Section and personnel from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division responded to the scene to collect evidence and continue the investigation. There were no injuries and the store re-opened at approximately 10:00 a.m.
