Harford County, MD (April 28, 2011) – An intensive joint investigation involving the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office resulted in charges being brought against Anthony L. Farris, 45, of Edgewood for committing felony 2nd Degree Arson and Insurance Fraud.
The incident originally occurred on December 22, 2010 in the 3600 block of Anderson Lane in Jarrettsville, MD. During the on-scene investigation, investigators determined the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer had been set on fire. During the ensuing investigation it was discovered Farris intentionally burned his vehicle to eliminate a second car payment. Damages to the vehicle were
estimated at $3,200.
Farris was arrested at his home without incident last night and transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he is held without bond. If convicted of the charges Farris faces penalties of up to 30 years imprisonment and/or $40,000 in fines.
