From the office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal:
An investigation into an apartment fire, which occurred at 10:55 a.m. on June 1, 2011 in Apartment ‘E’ of 224 Crocker Drive in Bel Air, revealed the occupant, Michael J. Delambo (52) was responsible for setting fire to his apartment.
The one alarm fire was contained to Delambo’s apartment within fifteen minutes by crews from Bel Air, Abingdon and Fallston Fire Departments. Bel Air Police Department transported Delambo to Harford Memorial Hospital for evaluation shortly after the fire. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Deputy State Fire Marshals arrested Delambo upon his release this afternoon from Harford Memorial Hospital without incident and transported him to the Harford County Detention Center on charges of Arson 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree, Malicious Burning 1st Degree and Reckless Endangerment. He is currently awaiting a bond review.
If convicted of the charges, Delambo faces penalties of up to 60 years imprisonment and/or $90,000 in fines.
