An Aberdeen man burned his hand Sunday morning while attempting to extinguish a fire that had ignited in his truck.
At 9:14 a.m. Sunday, a 1990 Ford F150 pickup truck owned by Scott Beyerling caught fire in the 100 block of Farm Road in Aberdeen.
Beyerling received minor burns to his left hand while trying to put out the fire, which caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to the vehicle and $500 to its contents.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire was accidental and had originated from a leak in the truck’s fuel tank.
Two additional vehicles were also damaged in the fire.
