From the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association:
At 5:36 P.M. Thursday August 25, 2011 Harford County 911 dispatched a first alarm assignment for a report of a dwelling fire in the 300 block of Fullerton Place in the Abingdon area.
First arriving units from the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company reported heavy smoke from the first and second floors of a two story, middle of the group, townhouse style dwelling. As firefighters entered the structure and began to attack the fire the Incident Commander requested a second alarm to be dispatched. The efforts of the initial attack crews were successful in rapidly extinguishing the majority of the fire and the fire was placed under control at 5:50 P.M.
The Abingdon, Bel Air, and Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Companies as well as Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department responded to this fire. One civilian was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for evaluation and treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal has investigators on the scene to handle the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
