From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
(Aberdeen, MD – September 21, 2011) At approximately 4pm on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Carsins Run Sports Field located at 500 Carsins Run Rd in Aberdeen MD, it was reported to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center that a mother witnessed her 5 year old son walking with an unidentified male towards a cornfield near the sports fields.
The mother called out for her son, who returned to her and the male quickly disappeared into the cornfield. The young boy told his mother that the male had asked him to help him find something he had lost. The male was not known to any of the other parents at the sporting event.
He is described as a white male, age 45-50, approximately 5’07”-5’09”, 185-200 lbs with short dark hair. He is further described to have a weathered face with a salt and pepper, scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a green baseball cap, a grey pullover hooded sweatshirt, khaki shorts and sneakers. Anyone who believes they may have additional information as to the identity of the described individual is encouraged to contact the Child Advocacy Center at 410-638-3294.
While there is no evidence of any crime being committed, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind parents and guardians to make sure they share information with their children regarding “Stranger Danger,” as well as, to be ever vigilant in their children’s interaction with others. Visit the Harford County Sheriff’s Office at www.harfordsheriff.org to download a “Be Safe” workbook for kids provided by the Amber Watch Foundation.
I know the HCSO takes these matters seriously and want to commend all who work on catching perverts. This is a serious issue and I pray that all children grow up to be good adults without someone trying to take their childhood from them.
