From Harford County government:
Harford County Attorney Rob McCord and Councilmen “Capt’n Jim” McMahan and Chad Shrodes attended graduation ceremonies this past Sunday in the Chapel of the University of Md. in College Park. The event marked the culmination of study in the area of public policy for the three men who serve the citizens of Harford County, one as an appointee of the executive branch and two as elected officials.
The course of study is offered through the University’s “Academy of Excellence in Local Governance” and takes several years to complete. It consists of 6 mandatory and 8 Elective areas of study.
Courses are offered through the Maryland Municipal League and the Maryland Association of Counties. Christopher Schlehr, Town Administrator for the Town of Bel Air, Ruth Ann Young from the Aberdeen City Council and Phyllis Glover from Aberdeen Planning and Zoning also received graduation certificates.
Mayor Michael Bennett of Aberdeen who also serves as MML President was the guest speaker.
