From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
On November 11, 2011 at approximately 9:35 a.m., deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Intersection of Joppa Rd and the CSX Rail Road crossing for a report of a truck that had been struck by a CSX train.
The driver of a flat bed truck approached the rail crossing but stated he did not see the flashing warning lights and proceeded to cross the rail crossing. The flat bed truck was struck by CSX T-5248 locomotive and pushed approximately 20 yards down the rail before flipping over on its passenger side with the driver still in the truck.
The driver of the truck was treated by medics from Joppa Magnolia Fire Company and was transported to Bay view Medical center Baltimore, Maryland with non-life threatening injuries.
The conductor of the train stated that his headlight, bell and horn were operational at the time of the accident and that the crossing lights were also operational.
Joppa Road was shut down for about 4 hours, but is now open.

I turning off of Joppa Road when this happened. I didn’t know what it was at the time. I just heard a noise that sounded like the end of the world. Glad no one was seriously hurt.
