The Harford County Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday night on a bill which proposes to establish new county council districts in lieu of the plan formally presented by the Harford County Redistricting Commission on September 13.
The bill up for discussion Tuesday night proposes many changes to the councilmanic districts including:
– District A would lose precincts in Joppa-Magnolia and Winters Run, but gain portions of Abingdon, Constant Friendship, Willoughby and Magnolia
– District B would lose parts of Abingdon, but gain Joppa-Magnolia, Winters Run, Magness and a portion of Bel Air
– District C would have only a minor shift in Bel Air precincts
– District D would lose nothing, but gain Frogtown and precincts in Whiteford and Darlington
– District E would lose a portion of Bel Air, but gain Swan Creek, Thomas Run, Greenbriar, and a portion of Aberdeen
– District F would lose a portion of Abingdon, but gain Bush, Belcamp, a portion of Havre de Grace, and Oakington
The full proposal with map can be found here.
The county council will hold another public hearing Tuesday night regarding a bill to adopt the 2012 International Building Code, 2012 International Residential Code, and the 2012 International Mechanical Code as the standards in Harford County. The updated codes provide penalties for violation of building standards and generally relate to buildings and construction in Harford County.
Also on the agenda Tuesday is approval of a Harford County Public Schools Supplemental Appropriation for Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB).
